Description

A structured record of companies on the Hong Kong Companies Register, sourced from the Companies Registry's official open data (published via DATA.GOV.HK, licensed for commercial re-use). It covers two registers: live local companies, and non-Hong Kong companies registered in Hong Kong. The dataset is refreshed daily and its coverage is checked against the Registry's own published statistics.

What each record includes

  • Business Registration Number (BR)
  • Company name (English + Chinese)
  • Registered office address
  • Date of incorporation
  • Company type (LIMITED / GUARANTEE / UNLIMITED)
  • Shop flag and shared-address flag (derived by us)
  • Sub-district, 18-district and region (inferred from the address)
  • Registration status (current status not verified)
Not includedDirectors, shareholders, contact details and industry classification — the Companies Registry does not publish these as open data, and they are not in any company register file here. If a service offers them in bulk, ask where the data comes from. Licence lists are different: the hotels & guesthouses list carries phone and email where the licensing authority publishes them.
